I love turtles. I love turtle pictures, real turtles, I even use to really love Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. When I was searching for adorable kids clothing I was stopped dead in my tracks when I came across Sage Creek Organics Sea Turtle line.

Sage Creek Organics sent Dexter the cutest little Sea Turtle Outfit that I have ever seen. They sent it in size 18-24 months and I was surprised that it actually fit my little man. He typically wears 18 month tops and 12 month pants but this set fit perfectly. I love how soft it feels and how well it held up against the three washings that it has already seen.




The top is cream colored and it featured several turtles swimming all around. The pants are limey green and they have an adorable embroidered turtle patch on the pocket on the butt :) Too CUTE!!

When reading about Organic Cotton and the effects on the Environment I wanted to share a few key concepts that I learned from the Sage Creek website.

•It takes roughly one-third of a pound of chemicals (pesticides and fertilizers) to grow enough cotton for just one T-shirt.

•Eighty-four million pounds of pesticides were sprayed on the 14.4 million acres of conventional cotton grown in the U.S. in 2000 (5.85 pounds/ acre), ranking cotton second behind corn in total amount of pesticides sprayed. (USDA)

To me, wearing organic is just as important as eating organic when it comes to protecting our environment. Organic cotton is grown using methods and materials that have a low impact on the environment. Organic production systems replenish and maintain soil fertility, reduce the use of toxic and persistent pesticides and fertilizers, and build biologically diverse agriculture. Third-party certification organizations verify that organic producers use only methods and materials allowed in organic production.
