This makes me upset because as a blogger, I host contests and I expect my prizes to be shipped, to my readers, in a timely matter. Ciao is bogus and I am more than livid. Wouldn't you be? How can that make me trust them as a company or sponsor, what do you think?

I would be angry too, how irresponsible of a company to not follow thorugh. I will keep that in mind with any PR dealings I amight have with them in the future.
i agree, very unprofessional and how do they expect anyone in the blogosphere to trust them now? have you tried to contact them again or at all
I know exactly how you feel. I entered several of the One World One Heart blogs earlier this year and won a prize in February and I still don't have her prize either. I've written her several times, she replied 3 times that she was mailing tomorrow! Well tomorrow never came.
Totally unacceptable! Hopefully since you've brought this out, no one else will have to deal with this company.

I agree as well. Things happen (I mean we're moms and we know that better than anyone)and if something happened that prevented your prizes from being shipped then they should have been forthright and honest with you instead of giving you the run around it's unprofessional period!
That is beyond terrible. That's how companies end up on a blacklist, that this one is now on mine.
I definitely will not be doing any type of business with this company, blog related or otherwise. That is ridiculous.

I have had this happen to me from a pretty well known blog. I won back in December and still no prize. Ive moved on and don't ever expect to get it.

That is really lame. I would love to think it was an oversight but I've had a couple of issues with prizes that never showed up, both as a winner and a contest host. Luckily, I've been able to pony up prizes for my winners but I'm still waiting on a pair of Joe's Jeans and a Petunia Picklebottom bag that never came...
I won one of those cards back in October. I finally got it about Feb but it can only be used in an apple store not online.

That is terrible!! CIAO should be ashamed of their behavior. Adding them to my list of businesses NOT to do business with.
That's not cool. I've had prizes not show up as well and it gets them put on my list. Have you tried contacting the company directly? I've had to bypass bloggers before and go straight to the sponsor to get my prize. It's so annoying!

Not cool at all! Heck Ive been waiting for a prize from Enfamil for almost a year they never even bothered to respond to any of my emails! Dont companies realize that bad press spreds farther and faster then good?
Reading these actually makes me feel better - one of the first things I won was a prize from well known national store on a well known blog. No prize ever. And the blogger seemed completely disinterested in following up...other times there is a delay the blogger feels bad .....
Ok...this has me FREAKED out! I gave away a $75 gc for them. I hope my winner got it, I'm going to have to check in with her now. OMG...this has been forever ago.

I just recently started hosting reviews and giveaways. What happened to you is one of my biggest fears! I try to be professional about my reviews/giveaways and I expect the company to be professional too! Thank you for pointing out Ciao's unprofessional behavior.
I would be mighty upset as well. Hopefully blogging about it will put them in the hot seat and will get your prizes to you quickly.

Companies that pull out of giveaways stink. It's like they wanted the advertising, they got a lot of work for nothing. We work so hard as giveaway/review bloggers. It takes time to write a great review and then if it's a giveaway people get excited. The winner of the contest gets hurt and will do like you. Companies need to know that they can't treat people on the internet like crap.

I signed up then too but didn't win. That's ok though because after all these people joined, they changed the payouts MAJORLY, so I don't post reviews in there.
That's a shame they didn't hold up to their end of the bargain.
Yes you have reason to be upset. I just started doing giveaways and I truly hope all companies follow through with shipping the product.
That is why it is so important for companies and brands to be aware of social media such as Twitter.
I hosted a Giveaway on my contest and was sent coupons to mail to my winners. The coupon value was supposed to be for a "free" item, and the coupons received didn't even cover the cost of the item. The coupons had to be reprinted by the company and took forever to arrive. I had to send out multiple emails (again) to the winners.
Companies cannot expect bloggers to promote their products and must always be cognizant of having their act together first if they want to work with us.
