French's 2009 Cook-Off Recipe Contest Entry

I love love love cooking. I recently won the Yum Yum Snacks Meatless Monday recipe contest with my Spaghetti Squash Pizza recipe. I will share that later. When I first heard about the French's Cook-Off 2009 Recipe Contest I just had to enter. I have several fabulous recipes that use French's Mustard but I was thinking simplicity this year. Here is my (hopefully) winning entry!

Nana's Sloppy Joes

1# ground beef
1 cup chopped celery
1 package of onion soup mix
2 tablespoons of flour
1 1/2 cups of water
1 tablespoon of Heinz ketchup
1 teaspoon of French's Classic Yellow Mustard

Brown beef and celery until tender. Stir to separate meat. Stir in soup mix, flour, water, ketchup and mustard. Simmer for 10 minutes and serve on warm buttered buns! The messier the better! I always serve mine with potato chips because I love to scoop up the fallen meat with the chips! YUMMY!

French’s Cook-Off 2009 Recipe Contest: No purchase necessary to enter or win. Contest open to legal US residents at least 18 years of age as of June 1, 2009. Contest runs from June 20 - October 31, 2009. Void where prohibited. Go to http://www.frenchsfoods.com for entry details and official rules.
