Cover Plug Review and Giveaway OVER

Dexter loves cords. Dexter loves outlets. Dexter loves Danger! Mommy loves knowing that Dexter is safe!

Thats where Cover Plug comes in.......

In our new house, our walls are cream colored and we have white trim. It is really nice looking. When Steve from Cover Plugs contacted me about reviewing Cover Plugs I jumped at the opportunity. They are paintable, yes, you are able to match them to your walls! I chose to keep them white because they match my trim.

What has Cover Plugs done for me? Given me piece of mind because they definitely are "out of sight, out of mind". Dexter doesn't even mess with the covered plugs now!! Yeah!

This is how nice Cover Plugs look on my wall!

I have had negative experiences in the past with covers that only cover one plug at a time. They can be easily removed and they can also pose a chocking hazard. No parent should ever have to deal with that! If you are heading to a baby shower, bring some Cover Plugs because honestly, the health and well-being of a child is the best gift you can give.

Check out the many stores that sell Cover Plugs HERE

Steve was nice enough to offer a pack of two Cover Plugs to one Dexter's Super Savvy Mommy reader! How exciting. Just head over to Cover Plug and find a retailer that carries them. Come back here and let me know one of the retailers. Also include your name AND email in the entry

Bum Genius Review

All of you know that a few months ago I started on a cloth-diapering adventure. It has been easy and rewarding. I am so happy and proud to say that I am a cloth-diapering Mommy. I love how easy the whole experience is. Now that I have a diaper sprayer from diapersprayer.com, it is even easier!!

Margaret (almost my name but I only have one "a") was nice enough to send me 2 Bum Genius 3.0 diapers to review. I received a light blue diaper and a light green diaper. I love those baby boy colors!!

New & Improved 3.0 includes newborn insert and one-size insert
Experience the first cloth diaper loved by every-day people - like your babysitter, grandparents and even dad! The bumGenius one-size cloth diaper is the first cloth diaper to feature stretch-to-fit tabs (patent pending), making cloth diapering as easy and comfortable as using disposables.

The first cloth diaper loved by every-day people is even better!

*New 3.0 features:
*Redesigned stretchy tabs - trimmer, yet snug and comfortable
*Wider slot - easier stuffing and removing insert
*New insert stopper - keeps clothes dry
*Return of the extra-small - fold down insert stopper for shorter rise
*Bundled with newborn insert - less bulk for little babies
*Grippier hook and loop - stays put and looks good

These absorbed very well and they held up well too. The only complaint that I have is that the velcro seemed messy. I would put them in the washer and after the wash the velcro would be stuck to other things (like inserts). One thing I really like though is the "cover" that covers the pocket opening.

If you are looking for a nice addition to your cloth diaper stash, look no further than Bum Genius diapers!! You can order online HERE

SEE KAI RUN Review and Giveaway!!! OVER

See Kai Run. Not only a posh children's shoe company but a generous philanthropist. In November and December, See Kai Run donated over 9700 pairs of shoes to children in need! AMAZING.

I am proud to be a part of See Kai Run's success. I love their shoes and their heart. I am excited to bring you See Kai Run.

See Kai Run just launched their new 2009 Spring line. They have incredibly cute shoes such as the

Nora

Lilly Jean

Forrest

Benson

I was given the opportunity to try a pair from the Spring 2009 line. I had the hardest time picking just one! I decided to go for the Jayce. Look how cute Dexter looks in them!

The Jayce are made of the softest, super-sweet leather and have flexible soles. You know how important that is for growing feet. I love the signature sole of each of SKR's shoes. Check them out! They sure will make cute imprints in the sand this summer:

They are the epitome of little man shoes! I am a sucker for Mary Janes, so lucky for me, I have a boy because I would spend all of my money on little girly Mary Janes!!

What Dexter Super Savvy Mommy shoe review would be complete without a picture from Dexter's View?!

See Kai Run was generous enough to give one of my readers a Pair of Their Choice!!! Just head over to See Kai Run and come back here and tell me your favorite shoe from their 2009 Spring Line (Smaller or See Kai Run) AND which shoe you would pick if you were to win! You also must include your NAME and your EMAIL ADDRESS in your comment or your entry will not qualify.

2 Days Until Dexter's Birthday

Today is the 23rd of February and it is 2 days away from Dexter's first birthday! On this day last year, I got my bloody show :) What a memory! I cannot believe that it has already been a year! I have lots of work ahead of me to get ready for his big party on Sunday.

In order to help celebrate his birthday week I have a great contest to share with you......

When I Think About Cloth Diapers

Last year, if you would have asked me what I thought about cloth diapers, I would have told you that I would never EVER consider using them. I don't need to create extra work for myself. I never was familiar with them at all. No one that I knew had ever used them so I wasn't educated about CDIng myself.

Then something happened. I received an email from a friend telling me that I should product review some cloth diapers. The first name that came to my mind was Fuzzi Bunz. Why wouldn't it be? They are trendy, cute, economical and revolutionary! Tereson Dupuy, the founder and inventor of Fuzzi Bunz was nice enough to send me 6 diapers to get me started on my Cloth Diaper Adventure. When I first got them, I was astounded by how cute and EASY they were. I had no idea that it would take me no time at all to change and dispose of poopies. I would have thought it to be a pain but it really is easy! Maybe I have my diaper Sprayer to thank for that!

It took Jason about 7 minutes, tops, to install the sprayer and now cloth diaper cleaning has never been easier! Here is a picture of my toilet:

Getting back to my diapers....

I have 6 diapers that are the standard, Medium size diapers and 1 One-size.

When I am done washing my diapers, when I am folding laundry, I stuff my diapers to help with later diaper changes. At night, I stuff one extra insert into Dexter's diapers to help Mr. Super Soaker stay dry overnight. I honestly cannot say anything bad about cloth diapering. I love that I am cutting back on the trash that is being thrust into our landfills and I love that there are no harsh chemicals on Dexter's behind!

As I continue with this excursion I will let you know all of the newest, latest and greatest moments. Last week, Heather won my Fuzzi Bunz contest. I am so excited for her because she using sposies now but is excited to try the cloth diapers on her baby's bum! If you are not sure if cloth diapering is right for you, please feel free to email me and I would be happy to talk to you about my cloth diaper story.

Eco Store USA Giveaway!!

Being Eco-friendly is important to me. I remember being pregnant and feeling like I needed to clean my whole house in order to get ready for the baby. I will never forget cleaning my tiny bathroom with cleaners that were hurting my lungs! Oh my. How awful is that! If I had known about Eco Store USA, I wouldn't have had that awful lung-burning, nostril-stinging experience in my bathroom.

Eco Store's mantra is No Nasty Chemicals! That is very important. Do you remember my Eco-Sink? I recently moved into a house with a dark brown sink. I have the hardest time cleaning that horrendous sink. The only thing that worked was CLR, that is, until I found Eco Store's Citrus Spray Cleaner!

Let me show you my video again as a refresher:

Thank you to Lyne at Eco Store for providing not one, but TWO $20 gift certificates to Eco Store USA!

In order to enter, please head over to http://www.ecostoreusa.com and come back here and tell me how you would spend your $20 gift certificate. ALSO, make sure you include your NAME AND Email in your comment.

Do you want extra entries?! You can do any or all of the following (and make separate comments for each):

This glorious contest will run until March 5th at NOON EST. At that time, random.org will select two winners and I will email them to notify them that they have won! GOOD LUCK and tell a friend!

6 More Days and Dexter will be ONE!!

This past year has been such a whirlwind. I cannot believe that my baby will soon be a toddler. I have caught myself weeping lately just by the thought of this child growing up so fast. He now knows many words, including Mama, Dada, Daisy and Cooter. He loves giving hugs and kisses (on his own terms!) and he enjoys eating, A LOT!

I never truly knew how large and grand life could be before I became a mother. Sure, I thought that I had it all figured out and I thought that I knew what love was. Dexter has changed that inside of me. I now cherish every day and for that I am eternally grateful.

I was just reading my pregnancy journal and on this day, last year I wrote the following entry:
"2/19-Daddy is nesting! I sure love him so much-we can't wait to meet you. The hospital bag is almost fully packed!!"

Here is a picture taken a year ago as well!

In celebration of Dexter's birthday week, I will be posting more giveaways! I am working on a HUGE grand prize, keep your eyes here for the details.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEEK DEXTER!!!

Love,
Mommy

Dancing Dolphin Pottery Review and Giveaway!!

Do you have a pottery fetish like I do? I cannot pass up an unique piece when I see one. My Mom lives in North Carolina and every time I visit her, we go to Pottery Highway (yes, its a real place). There you will find clay-rich soil and lots and lots of potters who offer fantastic pieces at great prices. When I found Dancing Dolphin Pottery I felt right at home. Steph, the potter, makes incredible pieces.

She was generous enough to send me a phenomenal yarn bowl to review. How awesome is this bowl?

What is a yarn bowl you ask? Well, you will see from that above picture that there is a slit cut into the bowl, right? Well, you lay your yarn in the bowl and thread the yarn up through the slit. It helps to keep your yarn in order when you are knitting! How smart! If you have a cat, this will help keep the yarn out of their (tempting) site.

I totally forgot to take a picture of it with my yarn in it (and now it is a blanket) so I thought I would ask for your help. In order to win a yarn bowl from Dancing Dolphin Pottery yourself, go searching online for your favorite yarn and comment back here with a link to a picture of that yarn. Also, go over to Dancing Dolphin Pottery and come back here and tell me your favorite piece that Steph has made.

Do you want extra entries?! You can do any or all of the following (and make separate comments for each):

The Modern Baby Company Review and GIVEAWAY!!

Happy President's Day. In order to celebrate, I thought I would post a new giveaway and review! Thank you to Jesseca at The Modern Baby Co for sending Dexter three adorable onesies to review. He sure looks cute in them. I love how chic they are. She sent two 18 month short-sleeved onesies and one 12 month long-sleeved onesie. The 12 month onesie didn't fit so you will not be seeing that adorable piece. No worries though, you can check it out over at http://www.themodernbabyco.com. It is the Blue Star one piece.

Jesseca, the brains and talent behind The Modern Baby Co had owned Quilt Baby but felt that her modern baby bedding company had outgrown its original label. The new label will not only cater to stylishly minded parents wanting fresh, modern nursery bedding, bibs, burp cloths, changing mats, and appliqued onesies, but they have expanded their line to also include wall art, pillows, toddler bedding, and additional mobile color ways!

Not only are The Modern Baby Co products functional but they held up very well in the wash. For those of you with babies, you know how important that is!

Apparently, Dexter felt the need to be elephant-like while wearing this fabulous elephant appliqued onesie

A couple of days ago, while Dexter was eating, I caught this adorable picture of him wearing his blue birdie onesie!

To tell you the truth, I never would have thought to add a posh applique to an otherwise plain onesie. Thats probably why Jesseca is the owner of this posh, Modern boutique while I am a Mommy Blogger!

Thank you to Jesseca for offering up this amazing gift set (a $42 value) for a giveaway to one lucky Dexter's Super Savvy Mommy reader.

Want a chance to win? All you need to do is head over to The Modern Baby Co.and find your favorite items and come back here and tell me your favs.

Do you want extra entries?! You can do any or all of the following (and make separate comments for each):
*Follow me on Blogger

Nix Review

Thank you to Nix socks for sending me two pair of the cutest socks to review. They remind me of tube socks from back in the day. Now Dexter is kickin it Old School!

Nix socks are thick, soft and they have the perfect amount of elastic in the leg and on the foot so they stay snug against the foot. As usual, Dexter did not hesitate yanking these socks off and hiding them on me so I can't put them back on him! Perhaps he likes cold feet!

Head over to Nix because all of their socks are HALF-OFF right now!!!

Looking Forward To Some Mommy Daddy Time

I am UBER excited because my wonderful husband is taking me out to dinner on Friday night. Not only will we be hitting the town solo, but we will get to sleep in on Saturday because my Mother-in-law is watching Dexter overnight!! YEAH!

A Boy and His Bulldogge

If this isn't the cutest video you have ever seen then you must be nuts. Dexter is obsessed with our Olde English Bulldogge Daisy. I think its hilarious that he likes to stick his tongue out to kiss the dogs! *gross* Then, after it is all over with, Daisy feels the need to lick herself! HA HA HA!

DaBib Review and Giveaway

Thanks to Shea over at DaBib I will have less laundry to do because of her great bibs.
What do you think of this adorable picture?

Who wouldn't want a bib that is called either a Hug or a Giggle?
DaBib DaHugs style - Solid Blue, Pink or Yellow micro fiber terry front with a complimentary waterproof backing. Of course, all of our bibs feature our Patent pending, "Scrunch Neckline" and the reversible crumb catcher.

Dabib DaGiggles style - Bib body is WATERPROOF! Signature Stripe front with a complimentary backing. Wipes off with ease! Machine washable too!

My favorite features of their bibs:

Scrunch collar (patent pending) keeps liquids from getting under the bib, reducing stains and frequent changing
Food pouch catches crumbs and drips - hidden on the back of the bib when not in use
Uni-collar attaches in front, easy to put on and take off
Extra large hour glass shape protects infants through toddlers
Made of environmentally friendly materials, non-toxic, lead-free

I really appreciate the fact that the bib is large enough to cover Dexter's shoulders because I swear he sees his shoulders as the ultimate napkin *doh*

Right now, Dabib is offering 20% off of any purchase if you use Promo Code MOM2009 during checkout. ALSO, if you buy 3 or more Dabibs you will get free shipping!! Yeah! If that wasn't cool enough, Shea is also offering up a Dabib for one of my readers!

What do you need to do in order to win? Head over to Dabib and come back here and comment about your favorite color/style of bib.

I have a second bib to giveaway too! This is for all of you bloggers and Twitterers out there. If you personally blog about this giveaway you will be entered in the drawing for another bib. KABOOST Review and Giveaway!!!

Thanks to the wonderful people over at KABOOST, I am able to introduce you to the latest product to help simplify a typical crazy Mommy day.

What is KABOOST you ask? KABOOST is a compact and portable chair booster that raises the height of kitchen and dining room chairs so your child can sit at the table just like a big kid. With KABOOST, the entire dining experience is enhanced for both child and family.

I was impressed to learn that KABOOST will support up to 300 lbs! How incredible is that?! It should also be said that KABOOST won the iParenting Media award for being so innovative and amazing.

Dexter is still a little young to sit on a chair by himself but I was eager to try out the KABOOST with Dexter's portable highchair that attaches to a dining room chair. The KABOOST was lightweight (so easy to carry and very portable). We brought it over to my in-laws house for dinner over the weekend. Not only was Dexter able to sit up higher (like a big boy!) but I wasn't nervous about him tipping over or falling off of a chair. The only thing I regret about my KABOOST adventure is that I neglected to bring my camera along for pictures!! I will next time though!

Did I mention that my KABOOST also happens to be lime green?! MY FAVORITE COLOR!!!

How would you like a chance to win a KABOOST of your own? All you need to do is head over to KABOOST and take a look at their amazing chair booster. Come back here and let me know which color, besides lime green, that you would like to win.

Do you want extra entries?! You can do any or all of the following (and make separate comments for each):

Validation That I am Doing Something Right

.......Not like I need validation but if I did, this is it! I was watching GMA this morning and they made mention to the fact that the average baby will wear 3,769 disposable diapers in their lifetime. WOW, astonishing. Now I am internally happy that I made the switch to cloth.

OK, I did the math and found out that all of the babies born in 2007 X 3,796 diapers would mean that (are you ready???)

16,263,235,000 diapers ended up in a landfill!!!!
Yes, you read that right, 16 BILLION diapers. Are you shocked? Disgusted?

Tell me how this makes you feel......

Eco Store USA Product Review Day 1-Citrus Spray Cleaner

Lyne from Eco Store USA was nice enough to send me some eco-friendly products for me to try out around the house. Today, lets focus on the Citrus Spray Cleaner.

Ecomommas can go room to room with this product. Simple to use yet high performance, the Lemon Spray Cleaner is the ideal alternative to conventional, toxic products. This citrus based solvent will work wonders on almost every household surface. When diluted it even works on mirrors and glass. And of course if it’s an Ecostore USA product, made with NO NASTY CHEMICALS.

Eco Store USA was a company that was born in New Zealand over 15 years ago. Ever since, they have been committed to ensuring that their products are very green. They have received many awards and acknowledgements due to their plant-based cleaners. Who doesn't love the idea of being able to clean kitchen counters and later prepare food on that same surface?! I know I feel better.

This cleaner not only smells phenomenal but it also helps to clean everything that I have put in it's path. I have cleaned up:
-Stove grease
-Smudged Mirrors
-Caked on Food Stains
-Highchair Trays

My biggest accomplishment with this product was cleaning out my bathroom sink. Before finding this amazing spray, all I could use was CLR. (And that is scary stuff!) ALl I did was spray it on and wipe it out! IT WORKED like a charm. WOW, I am sold!

THANK YOU ECO STORE USA. Check back on my reviews of the other products that I am currently reviewing!!

Fuzzi Bunz CONTEST!!

So, I have eluded to the fact that Tereson Dupuy, eco-friendly Mommy and inventor of Fuzzi Bunz was nice enough not only to be my cloth diapering mentor but to also offer up a 3 pack of any size cloth diapers to one Dexter's Super Savvy Mommy reader.

What do you have to do to win you ask? Please head over to Fuzzi Bunz and check out their website. Come back here and tell me the three colors of Fuzzi Bunz you would like to win AND also tell me your views of cloth diapering. (If you are scared to take the leap, have taken the leap or maybe you just have a question for Tereson.) Tell me in your entry. Also include your name and email address in your entry so I can contact the winner.

Do you want extra entries?! You can do any or all of the following (and make separate comments for each):

Its not nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Each day gets easier and easier. We had one wet clothes incident yesterday but other than that, it has been smooth sailing! Yeah!

List of things to do:
I need to go out and buy a few more dipes so I don't have to do laundry every day.
I need help finding a better detergent....Grrrr!!

Any suggestions?!
