MiniStar Fur Boot Review and Giveaway

I recently was sent a pair of these Chocolate Ministar Fur Boots to review. They come in sizes S, M, L and XL. The XL is for 18-24 month olds. Even though Dexter has tiny feet for his age (19 months), I decided to get the XL. He currently wears a size 5 shoe and these are big on him. He was able to walk around in them but once the snow flies and he is wearing thick socks, I am sure they will be perfect.

These beauties are made from natural leather which makes them super soft and breathable. The soles are made from suede which makes them slip resistant, soft and flexible. The fur lining is made from polyester which make them really soft. The boots also have an elastic closure which makes getting into and out of them a breeze! In my words, these boots are "big pimpin"

You can swing over to Target and pick up a pair of these boots for the amazing low price of $19.99. They come in the chocolate (seen above), beige or pink! They are distributed by RT Nash and designed by Bobux!!

How would you like to win your choice of Ministar Fur Boot? All you have to do is follow me on Twitter @royaldixie and follow @ministarbaby and tweet about this contest. You can tweet as many times as you want but you have to tweet this phrase. "I want to win @ministarbaby fur boots from @royaldixie http://tinyurl.com/y9otlhr"

Myah and Me Clothing Review and GIVEAWAY!

I am excited when Myah and Me asked me to review their Mom/Child matching shirts. I have the HARDEST time finding clothing that is not only pimpin but also cool enough for me and Dex to sport. I chose the Sweet Child O'Mommys and Rockin' Mommy tees.

The shirt selection that they carry don't stop there! They also have Mommy and Daddy shirts, Grandma and Grandpa shirts and Family shirts!

I am the world's biggest Guns and Roses fan and I was so excited when I saw this shirt on their website!

I always hear Sweet Child O Mine on WKLT here in Northern MI and I immediately grab D and we dance all around the living room! He loves it! Its our song so I JUMPED at the opportunity to wear matching shirts that sport our song *Awww* I had a few people comment on his shirt on our latest trip to the grocery store and it wasn't until I pointed out my shirt that these women yelled "why didn't they make cool shirts like that when my kids were little!" I told them that Myah and Me is a Michigan based company. That is always a selling point because it is important to me that we Michiganders bring commerce back to Michigan where we so desperately need it!

How would you like to win a matching shirt for you and your little one? Myah and Me was nice enough to offer one DSSM reader the opportunity to win a Lucky shirt for Mom and Baby! WANNA WIN?! Head over to Myah and Me and pick out your favorite shirt. Come back here and tell me your favorite. Include your email address in the entry.

Who is Lyne Downing?

This post was written by ROCK STAR MOMMY-Judy Davids

I have known Lyne Appel Downing for about 7 months but it feels like I have known her for years. Lyne is this teeny tiny woman. My shadow weighs more than her, but I swear when she enters a room she is larger than life. In fact, her aura enters a room 5 minutes before her.

That's because Lyne is so passionate, so full of energy. Lyne helped orchestrate the launching of the New Zealand company ecostore here in the USA. Her philosophy is be good to the earth. Be good to your body. No nasty chemicals. She's taken on this endeavor like it's religion and I am gobsmacked by what she has accomplished--this regular "mom" from the suburbs--is helping run a company and educating consumers (like me) how to re-think what chemicals are in our cleaning products. My IQ has gone up 10 points since I met her.

So you get it. Lyne is an amazing business women, but she is also an wonderful friend and human being. When I told Lyne that the South Oakland Citizen's for the Homeless were in need of soap products for their guests she responded by supplying them with enough soap for all their guest for a year! How cool is that? To a homeless person soap and showers, things we take for granted, are a luxury--a wonderful treat.

So here's a great big shout out to ecostore USA and Lyne Appel Dowing. YOU ROCK!

Please visit www.ecostoreUSA.com and find out how you can avoid NASTY CHEMICALS!

Gap's Semi Annual Baby Sale Means Awesome Savings for Me!!

As you all know Dexter is a mere 18 months old. Thankfully he will not be going to school anytime soon. I do happen to love Back To School Shopping Events though because I can save a ton of money shopping for Dexter's clothing. One of my absolute favorite places to shop is the Gap Outlet. I find SO MANY awesome deals there! As a matter of fact, last November I got Dexter's fall and winter jacket for THIS year!! I usually go when they are having a huge sale and then I end up using a coupon that I found online to help me save an extra 10%-25% off! I also love the Gap because I never have to worry about buying sizes for next year. I can buy 18-24 months and know that shortly they will fit him perfectly, just like the 12-18m size now! Talk about value!!

I like the Gap because they clothing sizes are always right on with Dexter's development and the styles are so classic. They carry no frills outfits that mix and match perfectly with other Gap pieces. One of my favorite onesies Dexter has had from the Gap is this one:

If you would like to learn about the TwitterMoms/Gap Contest you read about it HERE

Hop on over HERE to print off a coupon good for 10% off the Gap's already low prices. You can also share this coupon with your friends and followers! Shop Gap Outlet stores and save up to 40% off the already low Factory Store prices during the semi-annual Baby Sale taking place now through September 24th. You’ll find irresistible prices on clothes for newborns, infants, and toddlers up to 5 years old. Shop any of the 200 Gap Outlet stores in the US or Canada.

If you are having a hard time finding me, check the Gap's Semi Annual Baby Sale because before I know it winter will be here and Dexter won't need shorts anymore!

ecostore cleans up at the Sustainable Business Network Awards

Household and personal care products manufacturer ecostore was named ‘Sustainable Business of the Year’ at the Sustainable Business Network awards for the northern region last night.

ecostore uses sustainably sourced plant and mineral-based ingredients in its products, sold through supermarkets and health food stores in Australia and New Zealand, online and through its own shop in Auckland.

The company, founded in 1993, was the category winner for the ‘Large Business Trailblazer’ award and went on to scoop the top prize at the awards presentation in Auckland.

The judging panel was impressed by ecostore’s commitment to the environment and best social practices. It was also commended for the processes used to track the lifecycle of each product from design and manufacturing to use and disposal.

ecostore has succeeded in providing high quality, chemical-free, New Zealand-made products in a market typically driven by low prices and dominated by major multinational brands.

The Sustainable Business Network Awards recognise businesses that are demonstrating leadership by embracing innovation, sustainability and regenerative practices in their day-to-day operations.

I just won a pair of Stride Rites!!

At a Twitter Party!! I never win at Twitter Parties! Thanks Momfluence and thank you Stride Rite!!!!!

About Me

I am Maggie, Dexter's Super Savvy Mommy. I don't have any super powers.  The super in my name relates solely to my ability to Super-Parent. I am passionate and emotional. I am pragmatic and optimistic. I am a lover and a fighter. I fight for what I believe in and those things are: my family, myself and the planet. I am an Educator but cannot find a job because of Michigan's rotten economy. I tried, believe me I did. Then I stopped. I was a new mom and that, to me, seemed more important. I believe that even though it takes a village to raise a child, I can do a pretty damn good job myself. It was the lack of a career that propelled me into blogging. I did it just as a hobby at first and like all things accidental, I became a "Mommy Blogger" I love social networking, writing anecdotes and reviewing your products. I only write about the products that I am passionate about. If I am sent something and I do not care for it, you won't know about it. That's me. Just Keeping it Real!

I live in Northern Michigan with my husband (Jason), two sons (Dexter and Oliver) and two dogs (Daisy and Cooter)

Dexter's Super Savvy Mommy is a place where eco-minded Mothers and wanna-be green Mamas come to find a wealth of information from cleaning green to raising a baby green. I provide humorous anecdotes, product reviews and a variety of pictures/videos to help Moms on their journey of greening up their lives.  I am strong-willed and very opinionated. I like to tell everyone when I find something that makes my life as a mother easier.

BOON Frog Pod Review and Giveaway

We all know about Boon. They make toys and baby items that are functional, innovative and down right pretty. Recently I was sent their Frog Pod to review and let me tell you one thing WOW! Before the Frog Pod my husband and I were always stepping on and tripping over every bath toy that Dexter owns. Now, all of the toys get scooped up into the Pod scoop and they are then attached to the frog on the wall. I took several pictures of the Frog Pod in action so you can see all of the awesomeness this unique bath toy possesses!

This is the Frog Pod, in all it's glory, hanging on my shower wall.

This is how the pod looks at bath time. Dexter likes to play with the scoop and the frog!

Just another thing to love is the fact that the top of the frog will hold all of mine and Dexter's EcoStore USA shampoos/body washes

This is the hook that attaches the shower wall via sticky tape. Its pretty heavy duty and small.

Not only is this Boon Frog Pod completely functional and unique but it will free up a ton of space in your shower. This beauty has a small price tag of $34.99 and can be purchased at Target and other retailers featured here.

Thank you to the generous people at Boon for offering one lucky Dexter's Super Savvy Mommy reader the chance to win a Frog Pod of their own. All I ask is that you head over to Boon and tell me your favorite item that they carry. Come back here and tell me your selection along with your email address.

Entry to win a ride to renew our vows.

Here is the entry that I submitted to our local radio station. I hope they pick me. Forgive the setup of the paragraph, it was a form I filled out!

My husband and I got married two years ago today, September 1st. We had been together for 6 years and recently had found out that I was 4 weeks pregnant. My husband wanted to do the right thing for the baby and marry me right away. We married 12 weeks later in Old Mission Lighthouse Park right on the beach. The wedding was quaint and beautiful. It wasn't the wedding of my dreams but that didn't matter because I was marrying the man of my dreams. Thinking about all of the new responsibilities that we would encounter being new parents, we were not able to justify going on a honeymoon. Because being an active parent is important to me, we decided to not send our son to daycare. Rather, I work nights and weekends and my husband works days. I have never loved my husband more than I do this very moment that I am tying this. I would marry him over and over again from now until eternity. He is my rock, my strength and my best friend. I don't always tell him how much he means to me but by renewing our vows in the middle of the same Lake we got married on would mean the world to both of us. Thank you for this opportunity.
