My Husband is Outta His Mind

About 3 months ago, my husband was laid off from his job. He worked as the IT guy at a dentist's office. Before that, he was a chef for 13 years. I love his cooking. He even cooked all of our food for our wedding reception! He barely broke a sweat. He is amazing.

I don't know about you, but if you have ever had an unemployed spouse, it sucks. Don't get me wrong, I love having him home, but he is miserable. He feels like he isn't doing enough to support our family (WHATEVER!) and he says he is stir-crazy. Well, the reason I am posting this is because he wants to open up a restaurant! I was like Oh My Gawd! I mean, 85% of restaurants fail within their first year. Is he talented enough to pull it off? Heck yes. Does he have the drive? Oh yeah. Do I think he is crazy? Frick ya!

Think about all the costs....Building Space, Commercial Kitchen Parts, Staff, Appliances, Odds and Ends, Utilities, etc etc etc.

I think he's nuts. What do you think?

I think a man needs to TRY, even if it fails the first time, or the 40th, he needs your support. You know, sometimes it pays to be crazy!

I think it's awesome if that's his dream! I understand your concern at the same time though. If you're in the are that I think you are, it might work out great with the tourism! :-)

If this is his dream, I say go for it! Restaurants are a lot of work (as many businesses are). He will need to be there 24/7 the first year or so to keep things in tip top shape...It is a new opportunity and a job!

Sounds like a great, buy scary plan! I say go for it. You don't know if it will work till you try. If he does open one, let me know and when we are in town we will come to eat! :)
