Barbie A Fashion Fairytale DVD Review

When I was little I owned so many Barbies.  I had all of the clothes and accessories.  I really loved her friends Ken and Skipper too.  There were no Barbie movies when I was little so when my niece was born 5 years ago I started buying her Barbie fun stuff!  YAY!

Fast forward a couple of years and now that I am a mother, I can spoil my little ones like crazy with fun toys and movies.  You can imagine how much fun we had with a movie premiere at our house complete with 2 year olds, 3 year old, 29 year olds and a 38 year old MAN!  I will tell you that the movie was a bigger hit than the popcorn (and that never happens).

This movie's premise is based on hard work and authenticity.  I love that the message helps young children believe in themselves.  In the movie, Ken breaks up with Barbie over the phone (typical guy) and Barbie then flies to Paris to help her Aunt who happens to be hosting a Fashion Show.  While in Paris, Barbie meets 3 Flairies who happen to make clothing awesome by glittering them up!  This leads Barbie to an amazing idea to help save her Aunt's show.  I don't want to give too much away so you will have to check out this movie for yourself.
Barbie, A Fashion Fairytale is targeted for children ages 7 and up (even though my little ones thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it) and is available at leading retailers nationwide on September 14th, 2010.  For more information about this DVD or other Barbie products visit www.barbie.com. Barbie, A Fashion Fairytale is currently on sale for $12.99 at Meijer (Retails $19.98)

I too loved Barbie when I was little... Loved dressing them up and playing house with them.. I had a son so I can't really do Barbie "dolls" with him, but he HAS watched a Barbie movie that he truly enjoyed!
