RecipeNut by Hormel Giveaway

Everyone knows I love to eat.  That certainly is no secret.  Lucky for me my husband is a talented chef but still there are a few comfort foods that I like to make for myself.  Some of them remind me of college and some of them remind me of childhood.  One of those, the hormel cheese football dip is no exception.  More on that later....

How do you keep your recipes organized?  You'd die if you saw my notebook with pages dangling from it.  It is so disorganized it isn't funny!  Just yesterday it took me over 25 minutes to find my banana bread recipe.  Oh Lordy!  Thank Goodness RecipeNut is here to help!

The recently launched RecipeNut, located at www.recipenut.com and sponsored by Hormel Foods, is a one-of-kind website that allows you to personally collect and manage all of your recipes, even those you find on other websites. A social network for “RecipeNuts,” the site enables users to identify and follow other users with similar dish, cuisine and ingredient preferences, rate and review recipes and share their favorites via Facebook, Twitter and e-mail.

In conjunction with the site launch, RecipeNut is asking Facebook fans to share their favorite recipes and the stories behind them for a chance at nearly $2,000 in prizes.

The contest kicks off at http://www.facebook.com/RecipeNut on September 27th and entries will be accepted through October 11th. Simply fan or “like” the page, submit a name and description of your favorite family recipe and the story behind it as well as an image of the note card or page that it’s printed on.  Ten finalists will be selected and fans can vote for or “like” the entry they think best exemplifies a truly treasured recipe. The winners will be announced on the RecipeNut Facebook page on October 25th

I would love for my readers to take part in this wonderful contest and make me proud!

In celebration of the launch of RecipeNut, Hormel would like to offer one of my lucky readers the chance to win a goodie basket worth over $30!

What do you have to do to win?  You can do one of three things: highlight your favorite family recipe that uses a Hormel product, tell me how you plan to use the contents of the prize pack in a recipe or how you will utilize the RecipeNut site.

One winner will receive the following goodies from Hormel/Recipe Nut:

·         Hormel® Always Tender® pork product coupon: Hormel® Always Tender® products are all pre-marinated for superb tenderness, juiciness and flavor, so there’s no prep time and no cleanup required. Available in more than 40 varieties.

We love to use their pepperoni for our homemade pizza. It tastes so much better than getting delivery (not to mention cheaper) and I like to think it is healthier!

I would use the real bacon bits to make a ranch bacon cheesebll (1/2 jar of real bacon bits, 1/2 pkg ranch dressing mix, 1 cup shredded cheddar and 1 pkg cream cheese). It's great for Christmas gatherings!

I'd make a wonderful pork roast with maple glaze in my crock pot, and I'd use the chili and bacon bits on baked potatoes. The pepperoni and deli meat would be added to a salad, and I'd make some yummy chicken salad sandwiches with the chunk chicken breast.
