Mommy Can I Have a Gun? Pleeeeease?!

I never thought that I would hear these words from my newly 3 year old son but alas, it has happened, "Mommy Can I Have a Gun? Pleeeese?!"  Whats a mother to do?  I bought him a light saber because he loves Star Wars.  Even though he loves his light saber, I fear that it just isn't enough.  I absolutely refuse to buy him a toy gun.  I might as well give him a coke and a cigarette and send him off to military school.

This may sound mean of me but I don't really see the point in Dexter having a "gun".  It is bad enough that he likes to "shoot" things by making noises but does he need to be encouraged?  When he got his stitches, the very masculine ER Doctor handed him a syringe container (minus the needle) and called it a water gun. It wouldn't be very nice of me to call and thank him for what he thought was a kind gesture because it has propelled him into a world of shooting and fantasy.  He now calls out for his "shooter gun".  I quickly correct him and say its a water shooter.  Whatever!

I can count on one hand the amount of items that Dexter has begged me for.  These include Elmo anything, Toy Story everything (including a fully operational Buzz wall clock), a baby (which HELLO I gave him!) and now guns.  Oh lordy how things have changed.  My sweet carefree 2 year old is morphing into GI Joe well before I had expected it.

**I really wanted to use this image on this post but $149 for the copyright just for this doesn't seem worth it**

Dinner Drama in my house {closed}

I swear if someone was to peep (I actually just typed poop!) into my windows they would just laugh as I am sure that it would seem that my family has the makings of a sitcom family for sure.  I have the same challenges as the rest of the world and I often struggle with putting a well-balanced diet on the dinner table.  I have burnt meals, added too much cayenne and I have also dropped an entire turkey on the floor but I digress.....

My husband and I try to make balanced meals for the three of us but time is always an issue.  Cooking healthy meals in a timely manner can often be difficult.  I love finding healthy ways to cook family favorites.  I was recently sent some of Barber's new Seasoned Selects Broccoli and Cheese Chicken Breasts to review and all I can say is WOW!

I say WOW because....
*They are unbreaded
*They contain no artificial dyes
*They contain for HFCS
*They taste amazing
*They are easy to bake
*Everyone loved them, including Dexter

I served my Seasoned Selects over couscous with some brussels spouts on the side (my favorite vegetable) and it was a HUGE hit.  I love the fact that they are also low in fat and calories.  Just see for yourself.
As you can see Barber Seasoned Selects also is pretty low in cholesterol and saturated fat too.  At first I thought that the portions seemed small but once I cooked them and served them with a starch and veggie, they were PERFECT!  At $4.99 I would definitely be buying them more often.  If you head over to Barber's website you can get a coupon too :)

Barber would like to make your Dinner Drama-Free by sending you a coupon for their new Seasoned Selects as well as a $25 Visa Gift Card to help pay for the fixins (and a bottle of wine too if you will!)  Just head over to their website and tell me which Seasoned Selects you would like to try and what you might serve with it.

What are Wikki Stix you ask?  Wikki Stix are made of hand-knitting yarn enhanced with a microcrystalline food-grade, non-toxic wax, the kind used in bubble gum and lipstick. They do not contain latex, gluten, nor peanut or other nut oils or byproducts which makes them an ideal creative activity toy for children with allergies.  These craft toys will unleash the artist within your child!

As a parent I am always looking for special projects to do with my kids.  Because Dexter is only 3 and he loves to make a mess I seek out products that are special but also mess free.  Wikki Stix totally fits that bill. I also love that they are non-toxic and good for children with allergies.  This isn't a problem with Dexter but Oliver might pose a problem.  That poor child of my heart is difficult in all areas of everything and we suspect that he has a host of food allergies!  Colorful, creative and fun for all ages....

For a limited time their special offer includes:

Little Tikes Cozy Truck Review and Giveaway

Spring has sprung and as the weather is getting nicer I am itching to get outside more.  I know Dexter is feeling a little too cooped up lately too!  The timing couldn't have been better to review the Little Tikes Cozy Truck.

When I asked Dexter which Little Tikes product he liked the most he exclaimed "the big truck!"  Somehow I knew that would be the case since he is into this manly-type phase now.  When the box arrived he could barely contain himself.  I did coerce him into taking a nap so that he would be refreshed when Daddy came home and was able to assemble the truck.  Later that night, after we couldn't take Dexter flipping out any more, the truck was assembled.  It took about 20 minutes (probably would have been done more swiftly had there not been a 3 year old "helping").

Dexter has the Cozy Coupe already and he has really liked it.  I think that he likes his new truck a million times better.  All he could talk about was "Ollie ride in here too", "Big Trunk", "RAWR!!!"  He is right too as the Cozy Truck has a removable panel on the floor that would allow us to put a non-walking child in to give him a little push.  I wouldn't put Oliver in there yet but Dexter thinks it would be an excellent idea!  I conceded to giving Oliver a ride.....

You should have seen how happy they both were to actually be playing together.  It has been difficult explaining to Dexter that Ollie is a baby but soon he'll be big enough to be able to play with you.  This was a very special moment for our family and one I will never forget.

What do I love most about the Cozy Truck?
*Made from #2 Plastic so it is recyclable (Perfect for Earth Month!)
*Made in the USA
*Drop Down Tailgate
*Door Lock

I would be thrilled to give one of you the chance to win your very own Cozy Truck!  This is an awesome prize worth $79.99 Please head over to Little Tikes and tell me another toy you are oogling!   Come back here and leave the URL and item name in the comment section.

The other day I posted a video of Robyn O'Brien taking about the scary truth about food allergies.  Only one person commented on my post!  Shame on you because that video rocks.  So much so that the folks at ecoSTORE USA took note and they want you to educate yourselves!  I was talking to Lyne, the VP of ecoSTORE USA  and she not only thanked me for forwarding that video on to her but she couldn't believe how scary it truly is!  See for yourself!

Super Savvy Mommy and ecoSTORE USA want you to arm yourself with the knowledge to help your families stay safe (from Nasty Chemicals and Nasty Food) so the amazingly generous folks at ecoSTORE USA want to offer one reader a $50 to use on their website.  Lyne and I want you to watch the YouTube video and tell us one jaw-dropping this you learned and feel free to tell me anything else about the video you want.  I never have felt so passionate about something so huge before so humor me and please watch it!

ecoSTORE USA, trusted partners of manufactures (in the USA!) an amazing assortment of plant and mineral-based household cleaning and personal care products.  Their baby products rock too!  All of their products contain NO NASTY CHEMICALS™ and orders over $25 ship for free!  Your $50 will go a long way (especially with their amazing sales that they typically run!  Watch out because rumor has it they will have a killer Earth Month sale in a couple of weeks!)
