Walgreens Ology Line All Natural Non Toxic Products

My husband didn't have to work today so I made an excuse about having to pick some things up from town and before I knew it, I was in the car.  Alone. Listening to my music as loud as I wanted without my kids screaming at me and screaming at one another.  Ahhhhh...bliss.  The drive in town is about 30 minutes and believe you me, today, I did not rush.  I was going to enjoy some Starbucks while I picked up some groceries.  I planned on heading over to Walgreens to pick up a prescription.  I even dabbled with the idea of heading over to Macys to get some new boots.  I chose my first stop as it was the most important; Walgreens.

I park the car and start inside {still reeling because I am alone!} and I walk in and I was shocked.  I was face-to-face with Taylor Swift.  Honestly I thought maybe I was in the wrong store.  This is what I saw:

I saw the word FREE then I snagged one! I have never seen anything so catchy at my boring Walgreens store so of course I stood off to the side and leafed through the whole thing.  Right there.  No kids.  Did I already mention that I didn't have any kids!?  Thats when I saw something else that I hadn't seen before.  A sparkly, new centerfold.  No, it didn't involve bikinis or motorcycles but rather something that yelled at me.  I saw this:

MOMS! Read this!  Ok, ok, you have my attention.  Plus, its pink.  I like pink.  Oh wait....IT DOESN'T CONTAIN HARMFUL CHEMICALS?!  It is also non toxic!  Whats that?  They are endorsed by Healthy Child Healthy World?  Now wait a minute.  My local Walgreens store is displaying Taylor Swift {love her!} and is becoming ecofriendly?!  Now this I have got to see.  I bee-lined it for the laundry aisle and found Ology's 3x Concentrated Laundry Liquid in Lavender and also in Scent Free!  I also found fabric softener {which of course I snagged}.  I spent a good 35 minutes going up and down every aisle.  I bought their Copy Paper, Tissues, Toilet Paper, Paper Towl, CFL Lightbulbs and their Fabric Softener.

Here are some more pictures I couldn't resist taking during my kid-free vacation shopping trip.

Thats my cart filled with Ology products.  The top right is the display right next to Taylor Swift that I found when I walked into the store.  Oh the bottom left is the Ology Shampoo and Conditioner.  I nearly fell to the floor when I smelled the White Pear/Cucumber.  It is to.die.for.  Really it is!  Well, now you have the HCHW logo.  That means I can trust the ingredients.  They are safe for my babies and for me and my stinky husband.

Want to know the best thing I discovered while at Walgreens?  Their new Balance Rewards program.  What I read quickly was that by buying $20 worth of Ology {or other Walgreens brand items} you get a bonus 3,000 reward points.  At 5,000 rewards points you get $5 back!  You are more than half way there.  Whats more is the fact that each product was on sale.  My total before the Balance Rewards Sale Prices was $42.16 and after was $30.66.  Thats a savings of $10.50!  Check out my receipt to prove it.

I bought a Fabric Softener, 2 CFL Light Bulbs, 400 sheets of 100% Treeless {which I have never seen!} Copy Paper, 2 Rolls of 100% Treeless Paper Towel, 2 Boxes of Tissues and 12 Rolls of Toilet Paper all for $30.66.  Thats pretty awesome, eh!?  {Tree-Free means made from renewable bamboo and cornhusks, not trees!}

I don't know about you but this is a BIG DEAL for me.  I love being crunchy and now I know that my trusted neighborhood pharmacy carries products that are 100% safe for me and my family.  Now thats a winning formula!  Check em out on Facebook and tell them I sent you!

CFL bulbs contain mercury! Not healthy at all!

I will be heading to Walgreen's to check this out. Although, I'll be skipping the CFL bulbs, as I don't want the mercury or an additional source of dirty electricity in my home. And I won't be buying the fabric softener, as vinegar is much cheaper and just as effective. But I'm really curious about the treeless paper products and will certainly be looking into it. Thanks for an enjoyable and informative post.

Just a heads-up: I tried to buy some Ology shampoo at Walgreen's today, only to be told by the cashier than it had been recalled.

@Nar -- I too attempted to buy the Ology shampoo (moisturizing cucumber and pear formula) today, and the same thing happened... the cashier told me it was being recalled. So anyone else that was actually able purchased this, I'd go back and see if you can get your money back. No one knew why, but it is being recalled.

I was there today, and they were selling the conditioner but not the shampoo. I asked why, and was told that there was an issue with the packaging, but not the product itself. I love the ology paper products, but haven't yet tried the laundry detergent.

it then went online to register for the balance rewards.After that went back to Walgreens sunday and purchased a lot o fthe Ology products.There was no Ology shampoo and I asked an associate if they had any in the stock room she said it was recalled because of the packaging hope they start selling it soon as I just love the smell of the conditioner and makes hair so soft
