Citi Bank Every Step of the Way-Alana Nichols

We all have good days and bad days but how you choose to overcome them is what sets you apart from the crowd.  Paralympian Alana Nichols has faced unbelievable obstacles but instead of folding, she chose to rise up and win not one, not two, but THREE gold medals.  She is an inspiration and someone to definitely watch because she will make you feel good about life.  Watch her video below:

Inspiration: Alana not only became paralyzed in 2000 while snowboarding but she chose not to let her injury weigh her down.  She got right back up and competed in the Wheelchair paralympic games where she and team USA won a gold medal!  If that wasn't enough adversity, Alana lost her only brother in 2009, just months before the winter games.  She was devastated, understandably and wasn't sure if she could compete.  She decided that she would use training and competing as therapy so she pushed forward.

As she sat at the top of the hill for her final run in the giant slalom, Nichols experienced calm that until that moment, she had never felt. "My brother was there, it was undeniable," Nichols said.

Nichols shot out the gate, down the hill, and finished a flawless run in just over two minutes and fifty-three seconds. When she crossed the finish line, and realized she had just won gold, she began sobbing. "People thought I was crying because I had won the gold medal," Nichols said. "I was crying because it was an amazing moment that I got to share with my brother."
Alana has paired up with Citi Bank and their Every Step of the Way Program to help raise money for US Paralympians.  By visiting the website you can meet 9 Olympians and learn their stories.  I chose Alana because I thought she was pretty and I wanted to know more about her paralympic journey.  In less than a minute I was able to click to have CitiBank donate $5 to the US Paralympians (or Olympians depending on which athlete you choose).  You can do it, too.  Citi is donating up to $500,000 to these athletes.  How generous and amazing!  Do your part to help so these athletes can do their part to inspire, achieve and live their dreams!
