Happy 9th Birthday, Dexter

Where does the time go? Seriously!!! It feels like yesterday I was taking pictures of him with some walking toys and making my first post here and the next thing you know, I am the mother of a NINE YEAR OLD!!! In fact, just a week before his birthday, he got glasses for the first time. Talk about a tear jerker!

Dear Dexter,
How is it that our journey together is already celebrating 9 years of love today? From the very first moment I met you, I was forever-changed. You captured my heart from the very first time I saw your little heartbeat and I, wondrously enamored, would follow you to the ends of the Earth and back a thousand times over.

Our first picture together!

In your 9 years of life you have not only showed me how to love fully and without reservation but you have also given me the strength and confidence that only a fulfilled soul knows. From the moment our eyes met, I felt as though I had known you for a million lifetimes. Right away I knew that you were the reason for my being and I would stop at nothing to give you everything you deserve in this world.

You are the epitome of awesome. Your soul is radiant and you do everything at full-speed. You are extremely loving and kind and there isn't a secret I wouldn't entrust with you. You are loyal, funny and your smile and mad-dance moves can light up any room. You are a friend to all and one of the most kind-hearted people I know. You always know the right thing to say to brighten my day and you are the first to offer a hand when you know I need it most.

We have a very special relationship and I am so very proud of the young man you are becoming. You love to share everything with me and it is my wish that this never stops. Thank you for the every day snuggles, all the help in the kitchen, all the silly faces you make to all of the over-the-top stories you like to share with me. Your joie de vivre is infectious and I am so honored that you call me Momma!

All of my love forever, first born~
Love, Momma!
